3D printing is like a phase of Renaissance in the twenty first century. Our own personal invention that is unstoppable and is capable of changing lots of things in our daily lives. 3D printing can boundaries like never before. The recent advancements in speed, printing technology and material capabilities have brought the industry to a whole new level.

Direct metal printing is getting faster and more proficient. The number of metal alloys that can be used for 3D printing is increasing rapidly. The complexity achieved by this method of printing can’t be achieved by traditional design and manufacturing processes. Critical parts of aerospace, automotive and mechatronic industries will be available at much cheaper prices. Some domestic items could also be printed quickly and inexpensively.

Most people believe that 3D printers are exclusively meant for governments, multi-national companies, international organizations and other such establishments but the truth of the matter is that this technology is ready to go mainstream. Consumers may buy the printer along with the required material and create whatever they want within the comfort of their own home.

3D printing aims at making life convenient for both sides, the industrialists as well as the general public. For the former, inventories would marginally decrease along with transportation, handling and storage fees. Instead, digital codes of products could be available online and customers could simply print the article at home. There is a possibility that because of this, retail shops may disappear altogether.

In the future, suggests Peter Friedman, publisher of the Innovation Investment Journal, car sellers may offer printers to buyers so that they can recreate car parts forever.

In the medical field, labs are trying to print muscle, tissue, skin, kidneys, cartilage and bone. There have been varying degrees of success. For example: hand-made bladders are fully functional I’m some patients. Researchers are trying to make it a global utility without any side effects to any individual. Scientists say that making body parts by hand is tougher and quite complex as compared to simply printing the body part. It is easier to recreate a part with algorithms.
